About Us

Founded nearly 40 years ago, Wykowski & Wood, LLP is a California based law firm with a diverse practice encompassing Civil Litigation, Corporate and Transactional Law, Tax Law, and Cannabis Law. The firm has earned a strong reputation for its sophisticated representation of clients in complex legal matters across a wide range of industries.

While Wykowski & Wood was among the first firms in California with the experience and skill to navigate the emerging field of cannabis law, its attorneys have long provided comprehensive legal services extending far beyond that area. The firm’s balanced approach combines deep trial experience with practical business insight, allowing it to effectively represent both individuals and businesses in challenging and high-stakes cases.

The firm was founded by Henry Wykowski, a nationally recognized trial attorney with nearly five decades of legal experience. Admitted to the California State Bar in 1976, Henry previously served in the Criminal Section of the Tax Division at the U.S. Department of Justice, as an Assistant United States Attorney, and as a White House aide under President Carter.

Over the years, Wykowski & Wood has played an important role in the development of cannabis law and policy in California. Members of the firm helped found, and continue to serve as general counsel to, the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA), the California Cannabis Industry Association (CCIA), and the International Cannabis Bar Association (INCBA).
