Chris Wood has been with Wykowski & Wood for nearly two decades, where he manages the firm’s corporate, transactional, and tax planning practices, and serves as outside general counsel to a number of thriving businesses. He has become one of the foremost authorities on mergers and acquisitions and capital raises in California’s emerging industries, with significant experience advising publicly traded companies, private equity firms, and cannabis businesses on investments, distribution deals, IP licensing agreements, joint ventures, reorganizations, and large-scale acquisitions. Over the course of his career, Chris has negotiated and structured more than $500 million in aggregate capital investments.

In addition to his corporate work, Chris has served as co-counsel in numerous trials in Federal Court and the U.S. Tax Court, including landmark cases that shaped the nation’s cannabis industry, such as the successful defense of Harborside Health Center, the country’s largest dispensary, and Berkeley Patient’s Group, the oldest operating dispensary. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of California, College of the Law, sharing his expertise in corporate and tax law with the next generation of legal professionals.
