UC Law San Francisco highlighted its first-ever Cannabis Law course, co-taught by our very own Henry Wykowski and Christopher Wood, which provides students with a practical understanding of one of California's most rapidly evolving areas of law.
Drawing from their extensive experience representing cannabis businesses, Henry and Chris introduced students to the complexities of state and federal cannabis regulations, corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and licensing. The course also incorporated real-world cases handled by the attorneys, giving students insight into the legal challenges facing the industry.
As Chris explained, one of the course's primary goals was to demonstrate that cannabis law extends far beyond dispensary defense, encompassing a wide range of corporate and regulatory matters. Through hands-on discussions and industry guest speakers, the course helped students develop practical legal skills while exploring career opportunities in the growing cannabis sector.
